WHAT CAN A CONSUMER DO ABOUT COLLECTION ABUSE
If you are being harassed by an abusive or deceptive debt collector, you should act to protect your rights.
You are welcome to contact our office for a FREE consultation.
We can often times speak to you on the phone to determine whether we may be able to help you.
We will most often set up an appointment to determine whether to go forward with your matter.
Other things a consumer may want to do:
* DON'T THROW ANYTHING AWAY. You should save every letter, envelope or other document sent to you. Often times, a document you think is not important can actually make the difference in being able to protect YOUR RIGHTS!
* WRITE DOWN NOTES following any telephone call you have with a debt collector. You should write the date, time, and who you spoke with. You should also write down as much of the conversation as you can remember. Be specific.
* SAVE EVERY VOICE MAIL MESSAGE FROM A DEBT COLLECTOR.
